6 or 3 mics configuration on 1300

Does anybody know exactly what changes between these 2 options?  I know why you would use them obviously, but does the codec use a different echo cancellation profile, or why is this setting needed on CUCM other than just leaving the codec to process the input it gets from each mic, whether it's there or not.

Hi Luis,

By default, Cisco TelePresence uses three microphones for a conference  that uses video. If you install more than three microphones,  Cisco TelePresence uses those microphones for audio conferences **only**.

However, you have the option in CUCM to modify this behavior,  so that  Cisco TelePresence uses more than three microphones for a video  conference. You can select this microphone configuration for some custom  CTS 1300 installations (for example, a conference room that uses more  than one table).

Never count the positional microphones as they are not part of this calculation
