Both VCS-E and VCS-C required?

I am buying a C40 and some 8945s.  I want video endpoints on the outside to be able to call in to our video endpoints registered to Call Manager.

I am being told that I need both a VCS Expressway and Control.

I thought you built a trunk from Expressway right to Call Manager.  It seems I could do what Im hoping (both inbound and outbound video calls) with just Expressway and CUCM, and no need for VCS Control.

Am I wrong?

In theory if your network deployment is accordingly it might be able to do so.

That said, its not the best practice and you would run in trouble if you run in trouble and there is a high chance that you

would do :-)

Anyhow, you might want to ask at Cisco about the future path, you will like that.
