Hi,
I'd like to know that the call manager and gatekeeper is the same or not.
If they are not, can anybody explain some of their differences in brief ??
Thanks.
regards,
Moe

They are two different entities. The call manager is responsible for Call processing and to provide H323 g/w services to the IP phones.
The Gatekeeper is primarily responsible for Call Admission control and as far as I know, the call manager cannot function as a gatekeeper

thank you sir. that's what i thought also.
i do have a CM and also GNU GK in my network.
I tried to use CM as GK but CM can't accept registration of IP-Phones. But GK can.
The 90 % of the functinality of CM and GK is about the same i think.
The configuration is pretty straight forward when i tried to make CM working with cisco 2650. But GK and cisco 2650 is more complicated for interoperability. I still can't make them work.
