Cisco C-40 Codec Login forgot?

How to do factory reset if some one forgots user id and password of Cisco C-40 Codec.

Hi

Username is admin.

You can connect to the C40 using a serial cable RS232. Here you can either login as root (if enabled and he remembers the password) or log in as the factoryreset user. With this user you can factory default the system.

By default, the username is "admin" and the password is either blank, or "TANDBERG".

But if you need to factory default reset the device, you can do so via ssh/telnet/ or via the RS232 port with either the "root" or "admin" users (if you know or guess the password).

As "root" user you can:

     rm /mnt/base/active/config.db (this removes the current configuration file from Codec)

     reboot

Or, as "admin" you can:

   xCommandsystemunitFactoryReset Confirm: Yes
