You may want to clarify what you are trying to accomplish?

DX80 does have HDMI in. So if you have an external set top box that outputs to HDMI, you could watch that stream on the device. There is no coaxial input to allow you to connect a TV signal directly.

If you mean that you want to use an external "TV" device as a Display for the DX80, then, no, even though the DX80 has an HDMI output on it, it is not programmed for this functionality at the moment.  The DX80 Installation Guide confirms this on Page 3 (it says "HDMI out (not in use)", as does the DX80 Data Sheet, under Ports and slots it says "High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) type A port output (reserved for future use)".

The HDMI input, if you're connecting an external device to the DX80 (as suggested by bvanturn) does not currently support audio - so this would only work if you had another way of playing the audio from the external source.

you have to love that its been 2 years since this post and the port is still useless with the latest 9.x firmware.

Cisco blows sometimes.

From what I have heard - and it's discussed in some other threads - it's a hardware limitation on the device, not a software limitation, so don't expect it to ever be resolved unless a new hardware version is released.

An extract from a post elsewhere:

The reasons are entirely technical.  In Android, they make certain compromises to processing main video in order to support the HDMI output on the DX.  The DX70 and DX80 have a single OMAP processor which handles 1080p30 just fine, as well as 1080p5 for presentation, but when you try to do more complex operations, you have to rob from main processes.

For example, BiB - built in audio bridge - does not work in CE software.  And as you have noted, the HDMI output is disabled. In order to prioritize video quality, these decisions were made by the developers.  It is generally accepted that video quality is better in CE software than on Android.

There is no plan to try to activate the HDMI output in CE software.
