Cisco meeting server - How works distributed calls between call bridges?

Hello everyone

We are having few issues in our CMS cluster because we don't understand how works the load balancing in CMS cluster, let me explain to you how is deployed.

Cluster CUCM 10.5 x 7servers

CMS 2.2.4 x8 servers, 4 countries, 2 per country.

Each Call bridges has its own SIP Trunk with CUCMs

There are bridges numbers ranges per country, the CUCM cluster distribute the calls to each CMS, 4 route list with the ranges.

The CMS cluster has 2 Call Bridge Group with 4 call bridges each one with load balancing enable.

The database is configured in 3 CMS servers (join), the another 5 servers "connect" to the database cluster.

The XMPP is configured as cluster in 4 servers, 1 per country.

Each web bridge connect to the XMPP on its country.

All running meetings in the CMS cluster create a distributed call peer link to another CMS with or without participants in the same bridge, it means, always open the peer link, and we don't know how disable it or why start a peer link with a Call bridge without participants in the same meeting.

The call bridge what receive the first call, or open a meeting scheduled, creates peer link to X CMS, not only to the Call Bridges in the same Call Bridge Group.

Today we enable outgoing calls from CMS clsuter, to all domain and IPs. we used the *.* to send the outgoing calls to few CUCM servers.

It is working but send the Peer link's invites to CUCM too, so the Peer link between CMS didn't work because our CUCM has SIP route patterns to send domains *.* and IPs URI to Expressways, internet calls.

We didn't know the CMS use the CUCM to activate the Peer links.

Someone know how works the load balancing? how activate the Peer links between Call bridges? and why use the CUCM to start these peers?

We read many manuals about CMS, include load balancing manual, but doesn't explain how really works.

Not sure why you're peer link calls are being created between Call Bridges with no participants in the second conference, but I'd imagine it would be how you have your Call Bridge routing setup for inter-peer dialing.  You can have CMS either use to create the peer links between servers going through your call control server, or dial directly between each Call Bridge.  To understand how peer link calls are routed within a Call Bridge cluster, take a look at the section 6.6.1 in the CMS 2.2, Scalability and Resilience Deployment Guide.
