Converting VCS-C to VCS-E

Hi,

Would anyone have or know if Cisco has a guide to convert a VCS Control to a VCS Expressway? I have the license keys, but wanted to make sure the steps are correct since its an important piece of infrastructure. Is it a simple process as just entering the license key in the VCS Control under 'Maintenance -> Option keys'

Yes, all you need to do is add the Expressway key to the VCS-C to make it a VCS-E.

Hi Wayne,

would the VCS-C's old option release keys i.e. non traversal, traversal, Findme etc  still work when the its converted to an VCS-E?

Whether your VCS is a Control or Expressway, it doesn't matter, the keys will work because they're tied to the server's serial number.  The Expressway option key just adds additional features to the VCS Control that turns it into a VCS Expressway, all existing keys will remain unaffected.
