Can I use the cisco DMP 4305G as a stand alone media player without buying DMM appliance or DMM licenses.
I think I should be able to send flash and MPEG files to the DMP using its built in FTP server and web based gui.
And also can i use my own server and any windows or open source software to stream content to the DMPs?

what format the video you are trying to play? Can the DMP reach the server on which the video is stored?

The goal is to play MPEG(1,2,4) and flash animations and also static imagery like JPG or GIF files.
The DMPs will be part of the LAN to which the streaming server is connected.
Is it enough to buy just the DMP box without any License.
