Hi All,

I am not sure exact difference between these two licenses : LIC-SMP+EP and LIC-SMP+.

I will buy some MX300s for a project.There is LIC-SMP+EP in options of MX300 and LIC-SMP+ options of TP-SMP-K9.

LIC-SMP+EP is cheaper than LIC-SMP+.

Is "LIC-SMP+EP" like multisite license for conference starting.

Does only one can start conference who has "LIC-SMP+EP" like multisite license?

I look this but i could not sure:

Both licenses are Shared Multiparty License for 1 Concurrent Meeting, that can be used with CMS or TelePresence Server with Conductor.  SMP License does not include Conductor base licensing, however if Conductor is needed, order SMP Starter-kit.

LIC-SMP+EP is ordered with an endpoint at a reduced cost, where as LIC-SMP+ is ordered al a cart at full price.

With SMP, anyone can start the conference since the license isn't tied to a particular person like PMP (Personal Multiparty License).

don't you think that the price for it is too much? if a user want to use B2B and CMS only, (no TMS) can they just buy the RMS & room licenses only?? or do they have to buy the SMP licenses to use CMS?

CMS calls need to be licensed, and you have 3 license options you can choose from:

  • Multiparty License (either PMP+ or SMP+)
    • PMP licenses a specific named host
    • SMP licenses the conference
  • Capacity Unit (concurrent calls)

Take a look at the Ordering Information section at the bottom of the Cisco Meeting Server Data Sheet.

Hi guys

Could you help me with this or recommend me some links:

I have a similar project with dozen SX10 that included in LIC-SMP + EP.

Before in the schema with Conductor the PMP and SMP was installed in this appliance to use Telepresence Server.

However in my current deployment, I will use CMS Cisco Meeting Sever. My question is, where do I have to install the LIC-SMP + EP due in my order did not include a specific PAK for this license and is considered like a part of bundle of SX10 licensing.

Based on when I ordered SMP+ licenses, although they weren't with an endpoint as they were purchased individually, we received individual PAKs for every SMP+ license.  We received a PAK for Conductor and one for Cisco Meeting Server, since you can use them with either or.
