MX 300 G2 (ce 9.7.1 30bff6140aa) drops calls if we are using in room sharing (proximity or cable)

Hi - We have a MX 300 G2 (ce 9.7.1 30bff6140aa) in one of our video conferencing rooms, but this seems to happen with all the devices.  When we are using video conferencing form the device and use sharing(proximity or hard wired) at the same time it disconnects from the call within 15 minutes.  If we are not using in room sharing the device stays connected to the video conferencing calls with no issues.  Has anyone seen this or a firmware fix?

Thank You!

Shawn

Hi,

Based on your problem description, it doesn't seem to be proximity or content sharing related issue

Could you also share a short description of your architecture and also what is call flow (components involved in call flow)

Please try the following

  1. Upgrade your device to latest version 9.8.0
  2. Check your firewall logs for packet drops / blocks using your codec as source IP
  3. Check if your firewall has specific ACL or timer based rule that may be tearing down the session after specific time

Calls dropping after X period of time are almost always a firewall timeout issue.

Thanks we are looking into the firewall.  Also, it only appears to happen with webex calls and not Zoom, etc.

Hi

Not sure if you did find something on your firewall but here's the link for the network requirements for Webex (get this requirements checked with your firewall / network team )
