security issue over Cable Modems

Hi everyone,

I know it maynot be a right topic here. I am wondering how security issue can be managed for the internet over Cable. Cisco said the requested data/http will be broadcasted so that a neighbour can see the downloading data using a network monitoring tool like sniffer. It is on CiscoPress CCNA book. Can anyone share how can we fix this security issue, please?
