Standard SIP and H.323 signaling ports VCS cluster

I am going to deploy a VCS cluster (VCS-C and VCS-E) and I found the following rules need to be opened on the firewalls between the VCSs:

- UDP port 500

- Standard SIP and H.323 signaling ports

- UDP port 1719

- Ip protocol 51

What does "Standard SIP and H.323 signaling ports" mean?

What are the ports I have to open?

Where or what document do you see the "standard SIP and H323 signaling ports"?

Have you taken a look at the list of ports in VCS Basic Configuration Control with Expressway Guide, starting on page 50-52, does that better help understand what you'd need have open?

In addition to what Patrick has mentioned, you may want to also check out the Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (Cisco VCS) IP Port Usage for Firewall Traversal documentation.

Edit: Note - the above linked document is for VCS software version X8.1 - if you're running an earlier version, you'll need to look at the documentation for that version (ie X7.2, or earlier).
