VCS Expressway Starter Pack

Hi,

We are running  a VCS-E Starter Pack with a dual networking option and 5 traversal call licenses. One NIC is connected to the internet with a public IP and the other NIC is in the DMZ.

There is one MXP 880 endpoint registered to the VCS. All external calls from and to this endpoint are working flawless. We have also a WAN connection to a daughter company with their own VCS and endpoints. The firewall of this daughter company is only allowing traffic from our internal LAN or DMZ subnets.

Now what happens is when we try to setup a call directly to an endpoint of this company all traffic is send from the external (public) interface of the VCS.

To find a way around this I configured the VCS of the other company as a neighbour zone with a corresponding search-rule. But with this configuration the VCS is still using the external/public interface.

Is there any way to route the traffic via the internal interface?

Thank you in advance,

Wouter

You may need to configure a static route on the VCS Expressway for the IP subnet of you neighbor to use the gateway of your internal NIC. Page 62 of this guide has the details that you will need to accomplish this:

Hi Zac,

Sorry for my delayed response. We didn't have time to test this untill today, and it works! Thank you for your advice!
