We're currently building out a 150 seat theater style auditorium / lecture style room. It will be located in a new corporate training center (non-education). We're also in the middle of switching over from S4B to Cisco/Webex so I'm fairly new to capabilities.
I'm planning for a Room Kit Pro in this space with a Touch10 controller at the podium. My video input needs are fairly simple - 3 inputs (Podium PC, Wireless Presentation, and Document Camera). Is it possible for the Pro codec to function as a regular video switcher when not in a "video" conference?
The 8 mic inputs might be somewhat limiting for me - has anyone had any luck interfacing with an external DSP (BSS Soundweb, etc.)? I'm fairly certain it will need to have AEC (Echo Canceling) - which means I will need to feed it far-end audio somehow.
Using the Touch 10 as the Interface - is it intuitive and customizeable enough? In addition to starting a audio/video conference, I'm thinking the user will need the ability to switch sources, Mute and adjust individual mics. I know I can interface with the Crestron route, but am not looking to break the bank (I'm already braking several national banks with the other rooms in this building). If I have to go outside of the Touch 10 for control, or with external video/audio switching, I was leaning towards the Atlona products and their Velocity control.
Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advace!
