Hello,

I´ve got a question regarding a C40 Codec.

I would like to do a Software update from TC5.1.4 to 6.3 but I don´t know how to save and restore the configuratin.

Would be thankful for your help.

Hi Alan,

A software upgrade does not change the configurations however there may be additional command lines on newer versions.

When you upgrade to TC6, the admin password would be lost and you would need to set it again.

Normally, to save the configuration of the codec ,you need to save the xconfig file from the codec.

You can run the following commands on putty and save the output-

Start Putty

Select “Telnet” and enter the System IP address in “Host Name”.

(Or select “SSH” and enter the System IP address in “Host Name” in order to establish SSH connection between systems.)

Select “Logging” and choose “All session output” and select location of saving file and file name at “Log file name” and save this at the desktop -

Type in the respective commands –

Log-in into the codec using putty via telnet/ssh and run these commands-

Xconfig

Thanks
