System requirements for Voice and Video cisco environment ( CUCM)

Hi Guys,

I would like to use this space to see if i can be advised for following scenario below:

The desired solution: The Employees should be able to call  within the organization using both fixed (desk phone) and mobile phone (also extension) numbers wherever they can make calls in the app( example cisco jabber). Plus, the employees should be able to call other people outside( PSTN) the organization directly using their phone keypad.

In the future 5 remote Sites will be connected (added) to the Headquarter through a VPN. So the users in the remote sites should be able to make internal phone calls from the Call manager that will be installed in the headquarters. In addition the organization wants a video conference solution in which will be able to access meeting rooms from Smartphones and from different points (locations/floors).

There are in total 17 users( Headquarter) at the moment( will increase in the future)

The organization has the endpoints below:

  • Cisco DX80
  • Cisco IP Phones 8811, 8831, 8832, 8845, 8865.
  • Cisco Room Kit Mini and Cisco Telepresence SX 80 for the conference rooms
  • cisco room 55 Single.
  • There will be users using cisco jabber on their smartphones and desktop/laptops.
  • 4 external lines ( PSTN) will be used.

Based on the desired solution above, we would like to be advised on:

  • Which type/model of Business Edition(Server) we should buy for the solution? ( 6000/7000 and or other) Redundancy server must be considered.
  • Which model of Meeting Server should be required for the solution( if needed)
  • Which type/model access points and controllers should be required for the solution( must support voice, video, data).
  • Advise in terms of user licensing ( co-workers, etc).
  • Which switches should be required for the solution( Switches must support voice, video, data)
  • The solution should include QoS.
  • Advise for the 4 PSTN lines the use of VIC-FXO on the call manager)
  • Windows Server for cisco TMS (if needed in this solution)

For the use of TMS there must be a Windows server available. Are the following requirements in the table correct? If not please advise.

Application server requirements

●  Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R1 and R2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 or later (64 bit), or Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit.

●  Minimum dual-core 2.6-GHz processor (Intel or equivalent) recommended.

●  Minimum 4 GB of RAM.

●  Minimum 10 GB of disk space for application installation.

●  Microsoft .NET Framework Full Version 4.5.0 or higher.

●  VMware EXSI 6.0 is optional.

Microsoft SQL Server and .NET requirements

●  One of the following is required:

●  Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (all versions, 32- or 64-bit)

●  Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (all versions, 32- or 64-bit)

●  Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (all versions, 32- or 64-bit)

●  Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (all versions, 32- or 64-bit)

●  If an external SQL database is not available when installing Cisco TMS, you must install provided Microsoft SQL Server Express (2008 or 2012). Note that all Express editions of Microsoft SQL Server have certain technical restrictions.

●  Large deployments with over 200 controlled endpoints and devices and more than 100 concurrent users must use SQL on external server(s). We recommend using Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later for new installations.

Client user requirements

●  Cisco TMS must be tested with:

●  Microsoft Internet Explorer Versions 9 and 10

●  Firefox Versions 21 or higher

●  Java Runtime Environment (JRE) required for Conference Control Center with limited browser support.

I will appreciate your feedback.

Thank you in advance

Thank for you reply.

Due the circumstances in the country, we can not get in touch with the local partner as you suggested to assist.

Anyway, we managed to get the answer for all posted questions except the one about licenses.

If you guys read this scenario( by the way there are 150 users) which type of licenses  may be considered?
