Hi All,

Anyone have any idea on how to back up TMS system with CMS system added?

I tried "In Cisco TMS: Systems > Configuration Backup > Perform Backup"but CMS system is greyed out and said not support

Thank you very much..

You don't mention which versions of CMS or TMS you are using, but generally speaking, TMS isn't capable of making a backup of the CMS configuration (or making backups of some other TelePresence infrastructure components such as an ISDN Gateway or a MCU).

You would need to do this from the CMS itself.

All the data within TMS is stored in it's SQL database, all that is needed is to backup the tmsng database.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for your reply. The version of TMS is 15.6 and CMS is 2.2.8

How about backing up the configuration that have been configured on TMS system itself? So once the TMS system went wrong, then I could just simply restore the configuration from the backup file. Please advise..

I just found this information on TMS backup

https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/telepresence/tms-disaster-recovery/m-p/2230410#M20695

Is this the correct way to do back and restore of TMS system? By backing up only SQL database

All the data within TMS is stored in it's SQL database, all that is needed is to backup the tmsng database.

Note: this is just a backup of TMS - it is not a backup of other components configuration like the CMS mentioned earlier.  You will still need to back up CMS separately.
