SX20 - get the sound from external microphone with 3.5mm mini jack

Hi guys! Could anyone help me to answer customer's question?

"Our business would like to use SX20 for large townball event to translate Video and audio to other offices
For townhall we use external audio equipment and mixers. We would like to capture the sound from this external equipment microphone to the webex to share it to the other offices
We tried to use microphone ports on SX20 to get the sound from external microphone with 3.5mm mini jack but that didn’t work
Can we do it anyhow? May be with special cable to be used?"

I would really appreciate that!

See this older thread on SX20 with third party microphones:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11471976/3rd-party-microphones-cisco-telepresence

Your problem might be because your cable doesn't match the jack - the mic input is a four connector plug, not three, there is a fourth for the microphone control. See page 130 on the SX admin guide

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/quick-set-sx20/tc7/administration-guide/sx20-quickset-administrator-guide-tc72.pdf

You should be able to do what you are trying to do.
