DNS Trace Tests will probe Root DNS resolvers, which require DNS records to be public, so it isn't possible to verify internal DNS records with DNS Trace Tests.
This documentation explains the test well, but the goal is to ensure that the right hierarchy is being followed, so more probing questions would be needed to find out what they'd like to gain.
