TE Agent Unable to get Dynamic IP (DNA Center)

Hallo Community

I have succesfully installed TE Agent on 9400 Switch, but the problem is that it is unable to get IP Address from DHCP Server, I also tried to configure Static IP, in both cases it did not work.

Without the Agent having IP address, it would not be able to communicate to the ThousandEyes Dashboard.

Any idea how to tackle?

Thank you

A.

Hi @balaji.bandi, thanks for the reply but i have studies all these documents and blogs. I configured it correctly, I actually installed Two Agents on two different Switches, on one Switch it took the IP address from DHCP and on another Switch, it is not getting IP address. Rest of the configuration is OK. Network Interface of eth0 is not getting Dynamic IP.

what version of IOS XE on device, what version thousand eye agent version

try manual IP and see if that works :

app-hosting appid 1KEYEAPP
app-vnic AppGigabitEthernet trunk
vlan xxx guest-interface 0
guest-ipaddress 10.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.248
app-default-gateway 10.x.x.1 guest-interface 0
app-resource docker
run-opts 1 "-e TEAGENT_ACCOUNT_TOKEN=xxxxxxxxxxxx"
run-opts 2 "--hostname 1000EYE"
prepend-pkg-opts
name-server0 10.x.x.x
name-server1 10.y.y.y

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hi @ahmedaburaihan - in addition to the excellent resources @balaji.bandi provided, I wanted to add some additional advice from our Support team:

Another thing to check would be that the AppGigabitEthernet interface allows the Vlan that the agent will be deployed on.
Step 3 of our documentation on the subject is commonly overlooked and could help in this situation.

If you're trying to use the DNA Center instead of CLI, this video can be very helpful for installation using DNAC.

If you're still having trouble, please consider contacting our Support Team for help! We always recommend the 'chat' option as that allows for more dynamic interactions with the Support Engineer. They will be able to work with you to verify the supported switch model, OS, licensing, configuration details and other troubleshooting steps to get you up and running!
