In UCSD version 5.2 it is possible to change the blue folder Icons in the portal.
The following Portal picture can be generated:
Under Administration -> User Interface Settings -> Icon Management new Icons for the folders can be downloaded:
Name the Icon and upload:
In Policies -> Catalog select Manage Folder
Select the folder for the new Icon:
Assign the new Icon:
The result can be something like this:
