Alternate Extension On Unity Connection

service
Level 1
Level 1

Hi

I have a voicemail subscriber with 6590 as its primary extension.

If I configure an additional on-net 4-digit extension as an alternate extension, then this works fine. However, if I configure a PSTN number (10-digit) as an alternate extension, this does not work.

What the user does in above scenario is he/she dials Cisco Unity from his cell phone and is prompted for user ID and PIN but when it was deployed it only asked for PIN. Dont know what went wrong and it stopped working.

i have a case open with Cisco TAC but its not yeilding any results.

The logical diagram is as follows:

PSTN ----Legacy PBX----CUCM----Unity Connection

Please suggest what/how can be done.

Thanks

That will only work if you match exactly what you configured as the alternate extension as the ANI reaching CUC.

I'd use the port status monitor to see what's reaching CUC and make sure it's what you expected and configured as an alternate extension.
