Calmanager and Cube per call load sharing

Dears,

We will use Box-to-Box Redundancy I have the following questions:

Box-To-Box Red. is it allowed to place the Cubes on different Data Centers with layer 2 in between.

When a call on the primary Cube is active, primary Cube fails. The Voice Call drops or Secondairy Cube takes over.

We have Callmanager ===SIP Trunks to the Cubes, SIP Trunk to the Active Cube(A) and One to the Not Active Cube(B).

Question are how works per Call load Sharing for Cube A and Cube B. (Keep in mind Cube B is Standby)

Is there a solution to do per Call load Sharing.

Best Regards,

Piet.

For box-to-box redundancy the 2 routers have to be connected to the same switch for the keep alive control traffic interface.

Both media and signaling preservation is supported, hence if one of the routers fails no calls drop.

With box-to-box setup you would only have 1 SIP trunk to the VIP IP address associated with the redundancy pair, there will be no load sharing as only one of the devices will be active at a time, this is how it works.  If you need load sharing then keep the CUBEs separate and use 2 separate SIP trunks in circular distribution fashion on CUCM.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your answer.

Best Regards,

Piet
