I saw couple of questions on running Cisco IP Communicator on Windows XP in Parallels/VMWare on a Macintosh. Has anyone been ever successful. I have tried everything to run IP Communicator on XP in Bootcamp mode, Parallels, VMware no luck.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi,

I've never had too much of a problem configuring IPC. Have you made sure you have the correct TFTP parameters in the IP Communicator client and MAC address in CallManager?

It should work in VM as long as you are bridging the network connection. In the client you can configure it to use the device name of the IPC (in callmanager) rather than the MAC address of your PC.

Make sure you can ping the CCM server from VM to start with. Once you can do that it should work fine.

Not sure about running it on a Macintosh, Cisco only recommends 2000, XP or Vista.

What do you mean by boot camp mode?
