Yes it can, and not it isn't. TAC is not going to support any system (Unity, CM or whatever) running in a virtual server setup at this point. That said, many of us run test environements here using virtual server and VMWare configurations. The performance is obviously not great but for testing configurations and being able to roll back changes it's an invaluable tool. For production systems in the field, however, we don't support this.
