In our local office, we have 2 unity servers, both 4.0(3)sr1. One is setup to service exchange 5.5 and the other to service our mixed environment (e2k3/5.5). We originally started off with the second server as we hit some BIG issues while trying to get the mixed mode integration to work properly. Now that it is, we are in the process of moving our users from the 5.5 Unity server to our Mixed Mode Unity server temporarily. To do this, we are using the GSM out of the Unity Tools. I have downloaded the newest version, and have the Stream Files shared out, but it never sees the two servers as part of the same domain. When I go into the GSM on the mixed mode server, it only shows itself as part of the domain, and the 5.5 server as a standalone outside of the domain. When I go into the GSM on the 5.5 server, it shows all of our 5.5 unity servers as part of the domain, but the mixed mode as a standalone outside of the domain. When I go into the SA on the 5.5 Unity server, I can see all of our 5.5 Unity servers in other offices, but cannot see the Mixed Mode Unity server there, and on the Mixed Mode Unity server, I cannot see any of the 5.5 Unity servers as delivery locations. Has anyone else seen this, or know where to start looking for a solution to this issue? Telling our users that they have to redo their voicemail just won't work in our environment.

In the GSM world, domain refers to Dialing Domain. Are the two servers in the same dialing domain? (In the SA Primary Location/Profile page).

They sure are. But like I said, the Unity servers serving 5.5 don't see the Mixed Mode Unity server as a delivery location and vice versa. I'm wondering if something is not replicating along the ADC that they need. It's still strange that the GSM can see both of the servers though.

Just as a follow up for more Information, I've done some digging into the system to see what's actually being seen. When drilling down into the SQL tables, the mixed mode server does not even have the 5.5 servers in there as delivery locations. And same vice versa. Is there some step that is supposed to be setup to replicate the location information across the adc? If so, does anyone know where I can find this information.

I also found this in the 5.5 migration document on cco:
For Cisco Unity versions 3.0 and later, the Cisco Unity location object is created from the Exchange 5.5 Person object found in the Exchange 5.5 schema. This Person object does not have an exact parallel in Active Directory (it is just one part of an Active Directory contact), so it is not replicated through the Microsoft Active Directory Connector via any connection agreement. The ADC can replicate Exchange 5.5 mailboxes (recipients) to an Active Directory mail-enabled user, an Exchange 5.5 custom recipient to an Active Directory contact, and an Exchange 5.5 distribution list to an Active Directory distribution group.
So has cisco not addressed the issue of moving users between servers? This seems pretty weak, and I can't really see that they would not have addressed this issue.

Mixed mode deployments are very tricky to get right. You should engage TAC on this one.

I already did, but that was a waste of time. With my last post where the Locations don't replicate across the ADC, it becomes pointless to even try to move the users. You are only given the choice of rehoming the server to the 2k3 side, and hope it doesn't hose like it has in the past, and then move them.
