Headset Question

Is anyone using wireless headsets with the 8941 series phones and if so what types of wireless headsets? We would like to stay away from the mechanical handset lifters and I noticed that the 8941 phones do not have an AUX port on the bottom of the phone.

Hi,

New phones have the 'Electronic Remote Hookswitch' feature, basically you connect a device to the handset port, (like the Plantronics "APC-4 Headset Hook Switch Control Adapter" http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/apc-4 ), and enable this feature on the CUCM device config page and this will allow a wireless headset to be used, this is documented on the Admin guide.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8941_8945/8_5/english/admin_guide/6921set.html#wp1030788

Hope this helps

Hi,

8941 doesn't have USB or AUX port for wired electranic hookswitch control. It also doesn't support Bluetooth for wireless headset control.

But 8945 has Bluetooth support, and can support bluetooth headsets from a couple of vendors, like Jawbone, Plantronics, GN/Jabra. But a full set of remote control feature can only be supported in the later release via Handsfree profile.

Thanks
