In IM Presence persistent chat configuration Page there is this Item:
How many hidden users can be in a room at one time
Hidden users are not visible to others, cannot send a message to the room, and do not send presence updates. Hidden users can see all messages in the room and receive presence updates from others. The default value is 1000.
no one document doesn't say how can hide some users in rooms.
