migrate from 3.1 to 4.0

Hi all,

I am going to replace the existing Unity hardware with a more powerful one and perform a upgrade from 3.1(5) with 500 users and 16 sessions to 4.0(3) with 2000 users and more than 32 sessions.

In my thinking, it is not possible to do a direct migration with a DiRT. Is that I need to upgrade the existing Unity 3.1(5) (including SQL2K, Unity...etc) to 4.0(3) and then using DiRT to migrate the data to a new hardware?

You'd have to DIRT it. I'd upgrade existing system to 4.0(3) and then do a dirt backup. Build a new system with 4.0(3), and do a dirt restore.
