Nomadic users in CUPS/CuciLync environment

Hi all. A customer with CUCM Rel. 7.x is asking MS Lync integration. Initially he bought several CuciLync licences, but recently it is asking for CUPS integration and we have installed a lab environment. The problem is that the end user may be nomadic (e.g. he can move from on MS desktop to another desktop, the latter associated with a different ip phone and VOIP line). The customer claims that it can keep trace dynamically of the change of the line in the AD database using a script, but I do not know doing the same in the CUCM environment. In fact using AD to populate CUCM Data, the data refresh, as far as i Know, is not so quick as needed. Do you have any advice? Thanks in advance Vincenzo Vozza

Vincenzo,

I am not sure I understand the issue you are attempting to solve.  Users are mobile, but the DN's that they use are specific to them.  In the CUP environment, a user would log into the CUP client with their userid/pw and that would make the CUP interface specific to them.  Same thing as extension mobility.

Can you please explain more about the customer environment to help me understand the issue.  Please explain the desktop move and the different IP phone and voip line statement you made.

Thanks,
