When I want to send a message to a user without ringing their extension first, I dial *XXXX. This works with all our 7XXX extensions, which is about 90% of users but when I try with the other extensions 5XXX or 8XXX I get an error tone. Where do I go to add the other type extensions so I don't receive error tone?

There are a 3 different ways to transfer a call directly to voicemail Check the following link

The error tone, is this a fast busy?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
The problem was in CCM in the CTI Route Point Configuration. There was only 1 directory number configured *7XXX. I have added *5XXX and *8XXX. It is now working.
Thanks.
