Hi Everyone
I'm trying to understand the new UCL for 8.5.
Q1 : Mobile Connect
Refering to the ordering guide (page 18-19 of "ip_comm_og_ucl_based_1021.pdf") :
Enhanced IP User License :
Entitles the user to use of a single endpoint of any make or model, including a hard phone and Soft phone from Cisco or a third party.
The Enhanced IP User License also entitles Mobile Connect for a user who has a mobile client (dual mode or Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator) or any thirdparty
mobile solution.
Any user with a mobile client or third-party mobile solution requires an Enhanced UCL.
Basic IP User License :
Entitles the user to use of one (1) Basic Cisco IP Endpoint, currently Cisco Unified IP Phone 6911 and 6921 models.
Basic IP User License also entitles Mobile Connect for a user who does not have any mobile client (dual mode or Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator) or any third-party mobile solution.
==> So if a user have a Mobile phone, he can use Mobile connect only if he doesn't have any mobile client, that's it ?What's do yo mean with "Third Pary solutions" ?
Q2 : The Three pricing Tiers
If a need to order, for example, 5000 x Basic UCL and 5000 x Enhanced UCL, how does it work ?
1000 x LIC-CUCM-USR-A
4000 x LIC-CUCM-USR-B
+
1000 x LIC-CUCM-BASIC-USR-A
4000 x LIC-CUCM-BASIC-USR-B
==> Sounds Good ? (The DCT is not updated for 8.5, so I can't try online for the moment...)
Q3 : UC on UCS and sizing mistake
There is a mistake in this Ordering guide (page 43) :
"2. Determine Virtual Machine Quantity and Cisco UCS Server Quantity
For UCS C series, one Virtual Machine per server is supported, so the required UCS server count is the same as the MCS server "
==> Huhu, good joke
Nothing is mentionned about coresidency, please be carefull.
Thanks in advance !
Regards,
