Scenario: Unity 7.0(2) ES44 (MCS server) with the latest patches (according to the document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/7x/using_exch2010/usingex2010withcu7x5x.html) is currently operating in an Exchange 2003 (Unified Messaging) environment. The Exchange administrators are migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 Rollup 3, however they are not migrating mailboxes. This will be done in a phased approach. Exchange 2010 is on a Server 2008 R2 server (I am aware of the registry changes required to resolve the “Your messages are not available now" error for Microsoft Server 2008R2)
Question: Is it possible to change the Partner Exchange to 2010 from 2003 and still have Unity with Unified Messaging Operational in a Mixed Mode Exchange environment? Exchange 2010 is already installed in the environment however no mailboxes are housed on any 2010 mailstores. All the Mailboxes are on 2003 mailstores.
I am hoping somebody can shed some light on this based on prior deployment experience. Additionally, I would be grateful if any gotchas or things to watch out for pointers can be shared here.
Thank you,
Zaki

See the link below. You can integrate Unity 7 with Exchange 2010; however, it requires some preparation.
