Unity and the pagefile size.

I have a Unity server,7845, ver 4.04 sr1. It has 512 Meg of ram and a pagefile size of 1024Meg, for a total of 1.5 gig of memory. The server operates at about 1.2 gigs of total memory. There is usually about 10-30 megs of free physical memory. The pagefile is operating at about 70% and is on the C drive, which is only 4 gigs, leaving only 1.5 gigs free. Does this seem like normal operating specifications? Should I move the pagefile to the D drive, which has 23 gigs of free space? Or, better yet, can I create a second pagefile on the D drive (same physical disk)? Can I/should I make it larger? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should add 1 gig of ram.

>>move the pagefile to the D drive

You can - but the goal should be having the windows server paging as little as possible to a virtual memory (pagefile)

>>create a second pagefile on the D drive

Again, you can and this helps because you have moved some of the paging-duties to the second pagefile but not paging is better.

There are almost 1000 subscribers on this server. Does this seem like normal operation to have to page so much on this hardware/software? Thanks.

For a thousand users, the hardware specs reads minimum of 1 gig of ram.
