Unity Connection Message Hunter No EML file created.

Hi,

I'm getting an error with my Message Hunter install.  I am getting an error when I try to generate an EML file that says "No EML file created. Check the log file for error details."  Messages delete fine and all other functions of the program appear to work perfectly, it is just generating the EML file that is not working.

Error log gives me the following error.

[Thread 006], [16/12/06 10:11:38], (error) creating new IMAP instance of the ConnectionMessageBackupFunctions class in GenerateEMLFile on 'Delete Message Over Digital Network' page: Could not load file or assembly 'ChilkatDotNet4, Version=9.5.0.56, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=eb5fc1fc52ef09bd' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

Unity Connection

Version 9.1.2.15900-808

Connection Message Hunter
Version: 1.0.0.10

I believe I started having the issue after upgrading my IBM Informix sdk drivers.  I had to change them for another program on my computer.  The error doesn't seem to have anything to do with informix, it appears to be related to something within .net referencing something.

IBM Informix Client SDK 4.10.TC6

Visual C++ 2013 x64 and x32 redistributable 12.0.21005 installed

Visual C++ 2012 x64 and x32 redistributable 11.0.61030 installed

Visual C++ 2010 x64 and x32 redistributable 10.0.40219 installed

Visual C++ 2008 and 2005  x64 and x32 redistributables installed as well.

.Net Framework 4.6.1 installed

 Any ideas?

what's you're Windows client you're running on?  Win10?  Running a few tests on my laptop here I'm not seeing an issue but there could be DLLs installed from other items causing it to work properly - I can create a clean virtual machine install with your setup on it and see if I can repro what's missing tomorrow AM when I'm back in the office and can get on my dev setup.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.

I did just install it on my laptop which is WIndows 7 Enterprise 32bit and has never been installed on there before.  It did work fine on the laptop, so that appears to narrow it down to a local issue on my desktop.

To clarify, it happened a few months ago, and I just had not had time to look into it.  Now that I look back at it closer, I found that the issue was present before I reinstalled the Informix drivers.  I did the Informix driver reinstall as a troubleshooting step.

The problem actually started happening after I upgraded our Unity Connection servers to 9.1.2.

UCSInstall_UCOS_9.1.2.15900-7.sgn.iso was the update file I used.

Well, I tried uninstalling the Informix drivers along with Message Hunter, rebooting, reinstalling Informix drivers with Message hunter, and rebooting again, and it appears to be working now on my desktop!

Apparently I somehow didn't do that earlier, I guess it pays to try the simple solutions first.

interesting - the last time you installed Message Hunter was it perhaps an update that you installed over a previous version?  Looking at the setup I don't have it set to force replacement of DLLs - it may have left an older binary on there if upgraded in place.  If not I'm not sure what the issue would be - that's a little odd.  Shouldn't be related to Informix SDK at all (that would fail right away with the attachment to Connection up front).
