from the tech pubs folks:
============
The Connection Server Status application (available from the Connection icon in the status tray) displays all the server roles on the Server Roles tab. For each server role, the tab in the interface displays:
A description of the server role.
Any Windows services that the server role controls
Any dependencies for the server role

Hi,
Here are the descriptions of the services:
CuSRm- The Server Roles Manager is responsible for managing the state of all the individual roles. It controls the order of startup and shutdown of the roles, and also monitors the state of these roles.
CuIMAPSvr - The IMAP Server roles provide access to the Message Store via RFC3051 IMAP protocol. In Connection, many popular IMAP clients (Outlook, Eudora, and Entourage) have been qualified to the IMAP Server.
CuSysAgent - The System Agent role is responsible for monitoring the general health of the system, by periodically running tasks which watch and ensure that the conditions that the other server roles run are acceptable
CuMta - The Message Transfer Agent role is responsible for message delivery within Connection.
CuCsMgr - The Voice Processing role is a collection of components and resources that support TUI and VUI access. The CuCsMgr (Cisco Unity CommServer Manager) is the main processes in the Voice Processing role
CuCsGateway - The Voice Processing Gateway role provides access to Connection components by authorized services and tools.
Tomcat - The web services role is responsible for the code which serves up the pages for Connection System and Personal Administration
CuNotifier - The Notification role is divided between a front end role and a back end role. The stored procedures used to interact with UMSS for message delivery, deletion, reading, etc., write events directly into the notify queue table in the database.
CuLic - The License Manager role is responsible for maintaining licensing information. Licensing is dependent upon the FlexLM
licensing system. FlexLM is a third-party product Cisco has selected as a corporate standard for software run-time licensing
CuScavenger - The Reports Data Collector role is responsible for retrieving reports data left by other roles in the system (like Voice Processing and Notification) and inserting it into the database, for processing by the Reports Administration Web Application
CuGalCache - The Groupware server role is responsible for fetching and caching contact and calendar information for Cisco Unity
Connection users from their corresponding accounts on groupware servers.
CuVrt - The Voice Recognition Transport role updates the local and remote voice recognition resources with current user and system
contact name information.
CuMiuAdm - The Telephony Administration role provides tests for SCCP (Skinny) devices (voice messaging ports). This role also generates SCCP device certificates for the SCCP voice messaging ports and the root certificate file.
CuTTsSvr - The Text to Speech role provides a text-to-audio rendering service that is used by the MIU to play e-mail messages over the phone.
CuDbEventPublisher - Clients subscribe to the Database Event Publisher for database events. The event publisher is then
responsible for distributing events to those interested clients. The event publisher provides notification of database changes where a real-time reaction is required (trace settings, MIU configuration, Notifier updates, etc.).
CuSysAgent - Specific tasks for ensuring the health of the directory were implemented using the Sys Agent framework. These tasks include ensuring database statistics are updated, aging recorded names and greetings, and monitoring database file size thresholds.
Hope this helps, if it does please rate.
