Unity, purge voicemail attachments in exchange ?

We are shortly having CISCO IPT with Unified messaging implemented. I was a bit concerned to learn that Unity uses Exchange to store it's voicemail messages (I assume this is definitely the case). Presumably you can set options (within Unity) such as deleted unread voicemail after x days, delete read voicemail after x days etc. because I don't think Exchange mailbox manager etc. will be able to identify these specific messages to purge them ?

I am not sure what sort of size voicemail messages will take up in an exchange mailbox, but I am worried it may push up users mailbox sizes and cause us a problem with users then trying to archive off messages etc. into unreliable PST files.

Any insight would be appreciated...

Message Store Manager (MSM) can be used to delete voicemails after x-days. You have option to pick just the read/heard messages.

(see MSM help http://www.ciscounitytools.com/HelpFiles/MSM/MSMConsoleHelp_ENU.htm#_Toc43179393)

To help you figure out sizing of mailboxes, G.711 Mu-Law and A-Law takes up 480 KB/Minute of Message. See
