Upgrade Unity 4.2 to 7.0 and changing partner server to Exchange 2007

We are replacing all Exchange 2003 (3 servers) to 1 Exchange 2007. We have 3 sites with Unity 4.2 servers (each site has 2 servers w/failover). All users are currently and will be in the same AD and forest and all mailbox will be moved to Exchange 2007.

When we upgrade to Unity 7.0, what steps should we take when changing the partner Exchange server to 2007? Should we change it during Unity upgrade or wait until after the upgrade?

What possible issues may arise with what we are trying to do in relation to Unity upgrade and Exchange migration?

Any information you can provide is appreciated.

I would do all of your Unity upgrades before moving to Exchange 2007. Since Exchange 2k7 won't work with Unity until you are Unity 5.0, that is pretty much set in stone. The only thing you need to do to repartner to Exchange 2007 is run Permissions Wizard to include the new 2k7 stores. Then run Message Store Configuration Wizard and point it to the new server and partner with it. Make sure you run the script on the actual Exchange 2k7 server to make the Unity_server and USBMS_server accounts. All this should be detailed in the reconfiguration guide for Unity 5.x here.

After partnering with the new Exchange server, you can move the mailboxes to it by using the Mailbox Migration Wizard on Exchange.

Will I also need to uninstall the Exchange 2003 Management component from the Unity servers and install Exchange 2007 Management component?

I'm sure this is on the documentations but I thought I'd ask anyway.
