Upgrading Unity Connection 1.2 to 9.1

We planning on upgrading our physical Unity Connect 1.2(1)SR2 to a virtualized (UCS) Unity Connection 9.1.  The current hardware Connection is installed on is a MCS 7835-H2-UC1 server 2.33GHz (2) processor, 2 GB RAM, and 2 - 72 GB drives.

All the upgrade paths (7.1(3) and later) say to reconfigure our hardware with 4 GB RAM and 2 - 146 GB drives.  Is this a requirement or will 7.1(3) install and run on our current hardware for upgrading purposes (we would not run this in production)?  Then reconfigure the memory and drives once virtualized, data restored, prior to 9.1 upgrade, etc.

Is there another why to up

We don't want to have to purchase additional memory or drives for a server we will no longer use after the upgrade.

Thanks,

John

Upgrade will fail if you do not meet the requirements, there's no bridge upgrade concept for CUC as you try to do, either it's supported, or it's not. Bridge upgrade is only for CUCM.

You should use COBRAS for this
