Unity 4.0.4 Sr1, Unified messaging .Exchange 2000.
For some users, When they get a Voice Mail, MWI goes on on IP Phone. They try to listen to the Voice mail . Unity tells them that they have " X # of new VoiceMails and all they hear after that is a big pause then after 10-15 sec of so Unity would start playing their Emails.
But if they go to their computer/PC they can find the VM in their inbox. Its happening even when they try from outside and from IP phones. DB walker runs clean. No Specific error in event log.
Any idea ??

And when they play the messsage in their inbox, it plays ok as well? Just checking to be sure this isn't some sort of one way audio issue where "blank" messages are being recorded...

yes They hear them okay thro outlook client. But not from a phone ( IP phone or by calling from outside to unity). I found a bug that some what relates to this CSCeg37011 but not the exact match. Do you know if ES76 would have a fix for this issue as well ??

CSCeg37011
Msgs not avail when NoDraft search folder ready but others not
Symptom:
A Unity Subscriber hears "You have 'x' new messages. To play new messages, Press 1"
After pressing '1', the Unity Subscriber hears "You have no new messages"
The message(s) do appear in the email client application. Message Waiting Indicators (MWI) status
is correct.
Conditions:
Unity version 4.0(4) SR1 integrated with Microsoft Exchange. One or more Unity Subscribers are
affected consistently.
Workaround:
A 4.0(4) Engineering Special 76 corrects this issue.
Further Problem Description:
The integration with Exchange involves a process where messages in the subscriber inbox are
filtered to designate voicemail & email, urgency of the message and the status of the message (read
or unread). If each of these filters are not applied, the folders containing the messages will not
be created. The symptoms above occur when the Unity Subscriber Conversation attempts to access the
folder.

We have applied an ES as a fix for this and it fixed the problem thats mentioned in the bug. But other issue where I was hearing a 10-15 sec pause its apparently related to the mailbox size. Those user mailboxes were >600Meg.So we moved some to a .pst file and its working.
I tried to find the inbox limitations on CCO but couldn't find any. Only thing I was able to find was if the inbox size is large then there can be delays. But couldn't find whats the meaning of "large" .Could one of you please indicate the recommended size of inbox to avoid these kind of delays? I know it varies per box per processor etc but still knowing some number or number of messages would help us design some large installs and make some recommendations.
Thanks in advance.
