Will Rebuilding Ex2K affect Unity?

Hello,

We have an installation consisting of 2 Unity servers (failover) running version 4.0(4)SR1, as well as an external Exchange2K (VM only). The Exchange server has crashed and we need to rebuild it from scratch. The questions are:

1. Do the Unity servers also need to be re-installed from beginning again?

2. If not, do any components of the Unity servers (PW, Exchange Configuration Wizard, the Unity install itself, or anything else) need to be re-installed again?

Any input would be appreciated.

If rebuilding the Exchange server means that you are going to flatten the only domain controller then yes you will need to reinstall everything.

There are technically ways that you could get around this but they aren't officially supported. Your safest best is to use DiRT to assist you with saving the data and rebuild all of the machines.
