Good Afternoon Guys
I am due to start a project to begin the implementation of Cisco Unified Contact Centre Express (enhanced) and its full integration with Cisco Unity 7.0.1 and Cisco UCM 7.0.1.3.
it will be put into place eventually for our IT helpdesk.
Although I am in a team that administers CUCM/unity on a daily basis - this UCX project is something that I havent worked with before. We are literally starting from the very ground up.
We dont have UC as our emails are in the cloud.
Can I please ask the following:
Does this application need to be installed on a seperate server or should it be installed on our CUCM Publisher for example? (That is a IBM 7825 server.)
We are not going high availablity with UCX.
Also,
if we go seperate with a new sole built server ( which is fine ), should we keep it as the same model of server as the CUCM?
and lastly,
What is the latest stable version of UCX that I can use with CUCM 7.0.1.3?
Thanks for all your help in advance - this is the start of my journey on my way to CCNP voice.

It gets installed on a separate server capable of running the IPT OS (UCCX 7 is Windows based UCCX 8 and 8.5 are the Linux based platform that CUCM adopted starting with version 5.) It has *VERY* strict compatibility guidelines (see below) as far as integration with CUCM. The model of UCCX server depends on the agent count you will need to support. I couldn't find the sizing guidelines although there was a brief discussion in the SRND for UCCX 7 (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/design/guide/uccx70srnd.pdf) starting on page 95.

I take it though that the Cisco UCX 8.0 is also compatible. Thanks for your point - I have seen the sizing guidelines and we will eventually expand to 100 agents or so - which is compatible with the same server type as we already have.
Apologies for the simpleton in me but why have you referred to UCX IP IVR compatibility and not only the UCX version itself - or are they one and the same?

That doc covers both since compatibility levels are based on an integration protocol and that is JTAPI for both cases. There you will also find compatible hardware models as well.
