Downloading Current Version of firmware from UCS 6120 XP

Imagine that I need to validate the integrity of the firmware running on the UCS. I see how I can get a list of versions of running firmware. I also see that I can transfer files from the UCS via copy. What I don't see is how I can connect those two ideas. I don't see the firmware on the filesystem anyway once I enter the local-mgmt mode. Is this even possible? Is the firmware accessible at all in this way?

Any tips much appreciated.

The firmware is kept on a diff file system than "volatile" or "workspace" which is not  query able from local-mgmt.

You can query it via UCSM if that helps i.e scope into firmware and then show. It shows you size etc if you choose detail option.

My-TestBed-B# scope firmware

My-TestBed-B /firmware # show  ?

  download-task  Download task

  event          Event Management

  fsm            Fsm

  image          Image

  package        Firmware Package

As a rule of thumb, if its viewable via the GUI, it is viewable via the CLI too.

They both use the XML API to talk to UCSM eventually.

Hope it helps

Thanks for the info. Too bad I can't get the firmware itself. But getting the versions is better than nothing.
