By default when creating a new simple HFP in 2.2 (7e) local disk is excluded. It is the only component excluded by default.
Is there any good reason to leave local disk disabled? Seems to me this is not a good idea, as you would miss any applicable firmware updates to all local disks in your environment.
Thanks

Greetings.
I believe the default behavior may have been changed to avoid issues with customers that still had rack or blade firmware bundles that contained an incompatible Toshiba drive firmware version. The release notes for the newer UCSM release notes actually list: "Host Firmware Package Enhancement—Local disk firmware is excluded from the host firmware package by default"
You do want to generally have drive firmware updated.
Since we are on that subject, please take a look at https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCux11611/?referring_site=bugquickviewredir and see if you have any HD PIDs that match,,, that may need to get the newer HD firmware.
