I am trying to set up the replication network at our DR site using an existing vlan. I get this message.

Post Replication Network Configuration validation failed. There are some unreachable servers from list: 172.20.16.154, 172.20.16.150, 172.20.16.151, 172.20.16.152, 172.20.16.153 with default port: 9098. Reachable ones are: 172.20.16.150, 172.20.16.153

Hi itguy1024,

I guess you don't need me to tell you that it must be172.20.16.151, 172.20.16.152, and 172.20.16.154 that are NOT reachable.

SO the point of your post must be that you need help troubleshooting how to determine where these packets are getting blocked. GIven that you didn't tell us anything about the path between the Insatller VM and the remote site, I'm going to have to assume that it is a routed path and not a L2 switched path.

So what I would do is set up a PC on the same subnet as the installer (that's giving yo these messages) and run wireshark while you issue

telnet 172.20.16.15x 9098

commands (where x= [1,2,4]) and watch wireshark to see if you get any ICMP Administratively prohibited messages, which will reveal the IP address of the router/fiewall that is blockingthe traffic.

Given that you've not told us much about the path between the Installer and the remote site, that's the best I can come up with ATM.

I hope this helps

The message is saying that some are reachable and unreachable at the same time.

There are some unreachable servers from list: 172.20.16.154, 172.20.16.150, 172.20.16.151, 172.20.16.152, 172.20.16.153 with default port: 9098. Reachable ones are: 172.20.16.150, 172.20.16.153

16.x is on the DR side which is where I am in HX connect setting this up.

Re:

OK. It seems you DO need me to tell you that by process of elimination, the unreachable servers are:

172.20.16.151;

172.20.16.152;

172.20.16.154

Logic:

Here is the list of servers as specified by the error message:

172.20.16.154, 172.20.16.150, 172.20.16.151, 172.20.16.152, 172.20.16.153

The error message also says that from this list, some are reacable - and tells us that the list of reachable ones is:

172.20.16.150, 172.20.16.153

THEREFORE, by eliminating these from the list, the UNREACHABLE ones are:

172.20.16.151;

172.20.16.152;

172.20.16.154
