UCS VIC Card Linux support

Hi

just checked UCS compatibility matrix for OS support.

Under Ubuntu there is note that only enic is supported.

http://www.cisco.com/web/techdoc/ucs/interoperability/matrix/matrix.html

Note 3: ENIC driver only supported at this time

Does that mean that Ubuntu/Debian OS with VIC card can not have FC SAN storage LUNs attached?

Is there adapter which can be used for blade server to attach to SAN FC network?

thanks

regards

NO

Hi

any news about VIC fnic support for other OS?

In B200 M4 Spec Sheet there is options for:

UCSB-MEZ-ELX-03 Cisco UCS CNA M73KR-E Emulex Adapter Mezzanine
UCSB-MEZ-QLG-03 Cisco UCS CNA M73KR-Q QLogic Adapter Mezzanine

Can we use these adapters as enic and fnic?

Found Emulex pdf which state only OCe11102-N is supported? Is fnic not supported or there is no driver at all?

thanks

regards

Hi Mirko

For a given blade model, you always have to consider I/O adaptor PLUS OS !

Ubuntu only supports the VIC adaptors, Vic 1240/1280, 1340/1380
