We are running UCS Manager 1.4.
We have enabled SNMP traps as we need to integrate with enterprise systems management.
When an alert occurs that generates an SNMP Trap, we are receiving 4 identical traps for each alert. Four when the alert goes active, and four more when the alert clears.
What are we missing? Any ideas?
(BTW, I'm the event/systems management guy, not the UCS guy)
Thanks
Gib

Hi Gib,
Can you ask your UCS admin to gather the following outputs from the UCSM CLI:
scope monitoring
show snmp
show snmp-trap
show snmp-user
show syslog
show stats-collection-policy
show stats-threshold-policy
There was a bug (CSCth89274) previous to 1.4 which involved UCS sending multiple SNMP traps for informs, but this is corrected as of 1.4. Can you confirm the exact build you're running?
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert,
Here is the additional info. Looks like we should be OK on that bug, we are on a UCSM 1.4 version.
Thanks,
Gib.
