Cisco UCS Platform Emulator, Release 3.1(1ePE1)
CONFIGURATION IMPORT NOTE: Importing configuration backups (All, System, or Logical) taken from the UCS Platform Emulator (UCSPE) to physical UCS Manager domains is not recommended or supported by Cisco TAC. UCSPE backups should only be imported to UCSPE domains.
New Features and Significant Changes in Cisco UCS PE, Release 3.1(1ePE1)
New Platform Emulator GUI Features
New Hardware FeaturesSee the User Guide for additional details on supported Hardware. Here is a summary of M4 and 3rd Generation Fabric Interconnect Hardware:
Known Limitations
Backup/Import of UCSM Configuration
Firmware Management Note: UCS PE supports uploading B-Series, C-Series, and M-Series server firmware bundles. Because of the large file sizes of the firmware bundles, UCS PE only supports uploading of stripped-down versions (link below). Stripped-down versions include only the firmware metadata (not the actual firmware binaries).

I am new to Cisco and UCSD. I haveimported .ova file in Virtualbox 5.18, so does it supported and what is the purpose of .zip file?
Also what is the procedure to launch UCSD GUI?
Virtual Box is not officially supported by the Platform Emulator.
As described in the User Guide, the OVA can be used on a variety of current VMware platforms. Alternatively, the ZIP file can be used if OVA import is not supported and the ZIP can be used on alternate hypervisors such as Windows Hyper-V. The User Guide also contains instructions on connecting to the emulator after creating and launching a VM and contains instructions on launching the UCS Manager (UCSM GUI). UCSD or UCS Director is a separate management utility.
hello, Dave
having download problems it states and doesn't complite.
Hi,
As an alternative download to communities.cisco.com, I have the latest release of the emulator OVA (3.1(2c)) available on cisco.box.com: https://cisco.box.com/v/UCSPE-3-1-2b-ova
Thanks
thanks, and do u have the same alternative address for the.Zip file too.
Here’s the link to the zip file on cisco.box.com: https://cisco.box.com/v/UCSPE-3-1-2b-zip
By the way, I incorrectly stated the latest version in my last reply – 3.1(2b) is the latest version of the emulator.
Thanks
Thanks, Dave
You are the best and it should have been 3.1(1b).
Hey, Dave
Are all the features on the browsers side configration can be used offline ?
Yes. I often run the emulator on my laptop while disconnected from any network. Obviously if you are working this way, you will need to assign static IP addresses that are reachable by your host system.
Thanks, Dave
Hi David,
When will the emulator have support for UCS S-series?
Thanks, Archana
The latest PE release (Cisco UCS Platform Emulator 3.1(2ePE1) ) support S-Series storage servers. Note that current releases of UCS Manager still mention storage servers as C3260, but the emulated HW is identical.
when i try to download the zipped file i get a 2MB file thats not working.
any idea why?
If there are issues downloading from communities.cisco.com, please try the links to cisco.box.com in the box_links file. MD5 sums of the zip and ova file are posted so that you can confirm successful downloads.
Let me know of any other questions.
Thanks.
