Ctrl+U should make it on the boot process, and then reset to default configuration

When you boot the switch, try to break the boot with Ctrl+U.That should let you reset the switch to factory defaults.I had the same problem on the past.

If you have two routers, and all that you'll be doing is redirecting the Default Gateway I'll recomend to use GLBP with track on the external interfaces. That is out of the BGP incumbency and give you both HA & Load balance on your scenario. Even if ...
