U can try Solarwinds which can get u all the graphical as well as tabular description of the usage and the bandwith gauges can get u the actual load at all times.Hope it helps..

It means my values would be smething like:rate-limit input 1000000 187500 375000 exceed-action drop.Wud this help me achieve my purpose ? I want to cap at exactly 1mb..no more.no less

Sorry.The requirement is to limit the bandwith usage to 1mb,be it any traffic.Im still confused bout the rate-limit parameters (bps burst-normal burst-max) as i need to specifythe total or the max to 1mb.
